Applications

Apply as a taxi driver

Interested in applying to be a taxi driver at TMA International bv? Then you must meet the following requirements:

  • You have a neat appearance.
  • You have basic knowledge of the Port of Antwerp.
  • Your Dutch is fluent (a certificate of basic Dutch knowledge is mandatory). It is an advantage if you speak some foreign languages.
  • You can be flexible; being a taxi driver is not a 9-to-5 job.
  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • You have a driver’s pass. If you don’t have one yet, we will assist you in obtaining it.
  • You have a driving licence and have passed a medical examination for paid passenger transport. If the latter is not yet the case, we will help you with it.
  • You have a basic knowledge of Dutch at level B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. A diploma or certificate issued by a school or language institute is required.
  • You live in Belgium or have an official place of residence where you can receive any call or official notification.
  • You meet the requirements regarding good conduct and professional competence.
  • You can provide a certificate of good conduct.
  • Your presence amounts to 50 hours per week or ten hours per day, spread over five working days. The working time includes 24% rest and break time.
  • Rosters are negotiable.
  • You work day, night and weekend shifts, part-time as well as full-time.
  • Taxi drivers are paid a percentage of their earnings. The amount of this remuneration depends on personal effort.
  • A new candidate driver receives a €250.00 bonus from the Social Fund after six months of employment with the same employer.

  • a certificate of good conduct (model for taxi drivers)
  • a certificate of claims history (to be requested from your insurance broker)
  • a certificate of basic knowledge of the Dutch language (to be requested from the school you graduated from, the integration service or a language institute)
